This page is dedicated to featuring those sites on Harrow Road which have won meaningful awards, most specifically from/within Fortune City, but other awards will be listed here as well.

Harrow Road Awards

That's right -- Harrow Road has its own award, a sample of which is above. Harrow Road is so new that most sites are just beginning to be developed, or not even that (registered and not yet in development sites outnumber sites under construction). However, despite our "youth" as a neighborhood within Fortune City, two sites have earned this award:

February/March, 1999

The latest winner of the Harrow Road Award is Richard L. Young's Home Page -- It's an excellent site filled with considered commentary and often humorous insight. It was the first Harrow Road site chosen as a Melting Pot Featured Site, and was chosen to be so featured twice in 1998 by the MP Ministers.

December, 1998 thru January, 1999

Steve Scroggins won the first Harrow Road Award for his beautiful site at harrow/505.

Melting Pot Awards

The Melting Pot District has its own award, pictured to the right. We're pleased and proud to announce that Balanone's Temple of Set Information Site is the first Harrow Road site to win this award, for February, 1999 (announced March 24).

Melting Pot Featured Sites

Just below the Melting Pot District Award in stature is the Melting Pot District Featured Site -- several sites are chosen for this status each month to demonstrate the high quality of sites available within the Melting Pot District.

• It took a couple of months before the first Harrow Road site was chosen as a Featured Site within the Melting Pot District (September, 1998): Richard L. Young's Home Page -- It's an excellent site filled with considered commentary and often humorous insight. It was chosen/featured again in October, 1998.
• Steve Scroggins was featured in October, 1998. His home page covers many areas of his interests and life, and is beautifully put together. It's well worth a visit. It was chosen/featured again in November, 1998, and January, 1999.
• Balanone's Temple of Set Information Site was chosen for this honor at the beginning of November, 1998, and again in January, 1999. It was chosen again in February, but I suspect most of that selection is because it was one of the sites quickly reuploaded following the disastrous FC crash of '99...
• Q2 was chosen in November, 1998. It's an excellent site in Portuguese, covering many interesting and useful Internet links of all kinds.
• The Harrow Road Hospitality Suite (this site!) was chosen in late November, 1998.
• RoadRat, a Harrow Road resident at harrow/800 and District Guide for our neighbors on Oxford Street, earned his spot as a Meltingpot Featured Site at the end of December, 1998.
• http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/harrow/513/ -- Danny Meeuwessen looks at the Titanic in depth, with interesting text and excellent graphics.
• http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/harrow/143/ -- The Cool Hat Movie Poster site presents many great movie posters, collected from Usenet.
• Shalini's web site was chosen as a Featured Site by the Melting Pot ministers in February just briefly before the disaster struck (the "FC Crash of 1999"). Shalini didn't let that stop her -- it took a while, but she rebuilt her web page, and it was again chosen as a Featured Site in March.

Rest in Peace

Cyberspace is not immune to its own forms of natural disasters. The Great FortuneCity Crash of 1999 completely wiped out Harrow Road and several other areas of FC. Several sites which were lost and not rebuilt were previously Featured Sites, including two from Harrow Road:

• The Great War at meltingpot/harrow/594 was chosen in October, 1998. It examines World War I in great depth. You can't visit this site and avoid learning something about WWI.
• Over the Bars at meltingpot/harrow/379 was featured by the Melting Pot ministers in late January, 1999.

Other Fortune City Awards

There are a number of other awards given by districts and groups or people throughout Fortune City. Harrow Road winners of such awards will be listed here.

RoadRat, a Harrow Road resident at harrow/800 and District Guide for our neighbors on Oxford Street, even offers his own award -- the WWW Great Site Award. It's a very exclusive award, with very, very few of them having been awarded. If you believe yours is a Great Site, apply!

Pat, Minister of the Silverstone District, offers the Fortune City Merit Award. This award is given to FC sites that a) abide by the Fortune City guidelines, and b) are technically operational (no broken links or missing graphics). Other Awards

• Richard L. Young at http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/harrow/380/ has won a number of awards, the Website Innovation Award from PC Connections, the Elite Site Award from Net Utopia, and the Market-Tek Design Award.
• Balanone's Temple of Set Information Site has been awarded the Silver Surfer (Bronze) and the Elite Site Award from Net Utopia.
• RoadRat at http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/harrow/800/ has received several awards also: the Elite Site Award from Net Utopia, the Submission Pro "Pro Site" award, and two others (links are broken, so the sites that gave the award may no longer exist).
